Since our initial year in 2008 we have contributed to 34 scholarship projects in 24 countries. We have curated festival performances and co-productions, invited guest performances and speakers from all over the world.

The wolf has warned of death. Hjørdis prepares for the final battle. With a golden helmet and her bow in hand, she moves towards the beach. But no power is strong enough to master destiny and the Valkyries from Valhall approaches.
In the moonlight Ørnulf sits by his sons grave and mourns to the extent that he wants to kill himself. Dagny persuades him to honor them with a song. This gets him in a better mood and he decideds to go back to Iceland with Sigurd.
We look back on this season, show highlights and speculates on how this is going to end.
There will off course be Christmas carols, food, on ice and maybe even Santa!
Sigurd visits Hjørdis to talk. Strong feelings bloom and leads to a game of life and death.
Gunnar wonders where Hjørdis was during the night.
In the light of the fire, she makes a bow string of her hair that will be used to revenge the one who betrayed her most.
A Greek tragedy from sunrise to sunset. Hjørdis makes plans for how to restore her honor and crush those who hurt her. The tavern serves breakfast.
The guest of honor Ørnulf shows up after a bloody battle. He raises his glass for his 6 dead son's journey to the afterlife in Gimle. But where is the 7th son Thorulf? Hjørdis learns the truth of who killed the polar bear.
Everything is prepared for a great feast at Gunnar and Hjørdis' farm. There's loud conversations and mead is shared. Gunnar och Hjørdis' only son has disappeared and rumors leads to bloody consequences.
To calm all emotions Gunnar invites to a feast. A piece of jewelry forces Sigurd to reveal to his wife Dagny what actually happened that fatal night in Iceland five years ago when the polar bear was killed.
Hjørdis gets furious when her husband Gunnar tells that he has settled with Ørnulf who once killed her real father Jøkul. She demands revenge and encourages them to fight.
Ørnulf seeks shelter from the storm in a fishing village on the coast of Helgeland. There he meets his old enemy, Sigurd The Strong who robbed him of his daughters. They draw swords and in the heat of battle more familiar faces appear.
Ørnulf from the fjords and his seven sons are heading towards the cold North to avenge the prey of his daughters. On the journey across the sea, dangers await and it blows up to storm.
In a country where summers are short and winters last for a lifetime, vikings, peasants and troops live.
In the freezing cold North, three powerful men - and even more powerful women - plan their revenge.

With Ibsen’s dramatic universe as a pivoting point for addressing different conflicts and thresholds between the local and the global, the private and the collective, them and us, we wanted to investigate the relations between the theatre and society in different parts of the world.

A workshop collaboration between the American actor Robert M. Johanson, American playwright Sibyl Kempson and Ibsen Awards/Teater Ibsen.
Is it the majority or the individual? The controversial, the debater or the ignorant? What topics create controversy today? What are the limits of publicly accepted expressions? How does contemporary theatre relate to these issues?
Guest performances, artistic presentations, speakers and debates will address these topics.

Nobody remembers how it started. But after rigorous search for actual and virtual mountains in Latvia, Brand moved us to the south - to small town on the south coast of the Crimea peninsula in the south of Ukraine.

"An Enemy of the People. Nobody likes a Do-Gooder" opened at The Albany in Deptford, UK on September 25th 2013.
Ibsen’s original play centres on two brothers. The Stockmanns (one a Doctor, the other the Mayor) have started a health spa which the Doctor finds to be a danger to public health. He is intent on making the necessary changes but the Mayor baulks at the costs. The Doctor, at first supported by the locals, calls a public meeting, but later finds that his neighbours are more interested in short-term gain than their ethical responsibilities. Doctor Stockmann is voted an “An Enemy of the People.”
Theatre director Rebecca Manson Jones (UK) and her company Just Jones& was awarded one of the four international Ibsen Scholarships 2012 for their innovative approach to staging Ibsen's An Enemy of the People. You can take part in a key stage of their research and development!

Theatre Painted Bird’s voyage with Henrik Ibsen’s Nora, a symbol of the women’s liberation movement, is still far from over. Nora’s words have not yet been exhausted and her struggle for liberation still continues, in Turkey as well as all over the world. Which is why Theatre Painted Bird once again presents “Nora/Nûrê”, which is Ibsen’s “A Dollhouse” performed in Kurdish, in a way which challenges the boundaries between classic and contemporary, the east and the west, traditional and modern in the staging of plays.
