This work is a new manifestation of Ibsen Scholarship winning project Multitude of Peer Gynts, the inter-Asia theatre collaboration exploring the issues of “fear/anxiety” and “im-/mobility” in contemporary Asia, based on a re-reading of Henrik Ibsen’s Peer Gynt.

Throughout 1 month from 31 October – 30 November 2020 you will be able to enjoy 11 performances from 30 artists involved in this cross-Asia collaborative performance project.

Multitude of Peer Gynts have been first explored with local artists in Larantuka, East-Flores, Indonesia, in July 2019; during a residence’s artist in Morishita Studio, Tokyo in August-September 2019 and presented to more than 2000 spectators at Shizuoka Performing Arts Centers (SPAC), Shizuoka, Japan in October-November 2019.
In the midst of limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Teater Garasi has faced new challenges for composing an innovative network of individual-modular performances created by collaborative artists from their respective locations – cities and countries.
